We got a look inside Cante Grande, which opens tomorrow, the 22nd, at Hankyu Nishinomiya Gardens!
We also tried the hearty “Cante Grande Plate”, loaded with curry and tandoori chicken😋
The “Cante Grande Plate” and “Chai”

“Cante Grande Plate” 1,450 yen (tax included)
It comes with two kinds of curry!
One is lentil curry, and for the other you can choose from (butter chicken, shrimp, spicy beef, or this month’s curry)!

Lentil curry
I had no idea lentils were this sweet! I even asked, “Is there pumpkin in this?”😂 (Embarrassing.)
It was mild, but with spice and heat that made me want to eat it again.

The staff recommended the butter chicken.
They said it’s the mildest of the curries you can choose from!
It wasn’t a sweet curry, but more of a clean, tomato-flavored curry for grown-up tastes.

Tandoori chicken
This is authentic tandoori chicken supervised by a Nepali chef.
It’s the spiciest thing on the plate! (Not so spicy that you’ll be sweating buckets, so you can enjoy it! lol)

Turmeric rice
With garlic and kasuri methi (leaves from a legume plant), it tastes spicy the moment you take a bite!

Spicy beans and potatoes on the side.
They’re good on their own or dipped in curry!
What’s that stuck into the back of the plate?

Papadum
Apparently it’s an Indian cracker!
It’s a thin, crispy wheat-flour snack. I could get hooked on this😋
I wish they sold it as a souvenir… lol.

The salad dressing was the sweetest thing. lol
It’s refreshing and resets your palate after the spice!

“Chai”
When you think of Cante, you think chai!
Cante Grande opened in Osaka in 1972, making this its 50th year! (Almost the same age as Dora●mon, which is 52 years old! lol)
It’s the shop that helped spread chai in Osaka!
That’s pretty historic✨
The “Cante Grande” Menu
Here’s the Cante Grande menu↓

The “Cante Grande Plate” we had this time is quite filling😋
For women, the “Curry Plate” without tandoori chicken or a single curry dish might be just the right amount!
For kids, the “Hamburg Steak Plate” is recommended!
Here are the other menu items↓

I’m also curious about the soft-boiled egg on top of the dry curry✨

Since it’s a café, they have all kinds of cakes too.

There are this many kinds of chai as well.

The main shop is in Nakatsu, Osaka. Looks like they have a bakery too.
“Cante Grande” Store Information

The seats right near the entrance had a private-room feel and seemed nice and relaxing!
We visited two days before the opening…🙏
They were in the middle of very busy preparations, so please enjoy the image references below instead. lol

Overall, the interior is pink-based and cute😊

There’s a cake display case facing the corridor. Which means…😮!?
Yes!!!!!
You can get cakes to go🙌

The exterior is pink too, and it’s cute😊
We couldn’t see it yet because the shutters were still down, so I want to go check it out once it opens🤗
Here it is on the floor map↓
