Beer Garden at Nishinomiya Gardens Is Now Open With Unusual Options Like Sea Lion Meat

Since yesterday, 7/19 (Wed), “GARDENS BEER STAND” has been open at Hankyu Nishinomiya Gardens. We were given special access the day before it opened, so here’s what it looked like.

We arrived while it was still bright, around 6 p.m. It’s in the Sky Garden on the 4th floor.

The beer is being sold in the same spot as usual every year.

It’s right after you enter between Suirengetsu and Kashiwa.

This year’s Gardens beer garden is a little different from before. There are two differences.

A little different from before ①

First, you can drink anywhere inside the Sky Garden.

Wait, even on the lawn?!

Even at the Konoha Stage?!

Even while letting your kids play at Sweden Trim Park.

Even on a bench near the flower beds. It is a garden, after all～

This spot is surprisingly little-known. It’s far, though. Do you know where to enter from to get here? Answer → from the Uniqlo side

We don’t really recommend the fountain, since you’ll get wet. Though if it’s hot, that might be an option～

Of course, the seating around the Beer Stand is OK too. In the end, this area is popular and often fills up

But we recommend the tiered area in front of the stage!

There are five kinds of beer alone. They also have highballs, chu-hi, cocktails, and more. We’re especially curious about the limited-edition Hyoketsu chu-hi. Of course, there are soft drinks too

Here’s the second slightly unusual point this time.

Over on the right. At the red sign, you can buy canned goods from the popular canned-food bar “mr.kanso”.

It’s a shop that’s been featured on TV a lot for selling all kinds of unusual canned foods.

Let’s go see what kind of “interesting canned foods” they have～

Hmm, maybe they’re surprisingly normal…

They even have canned paella. Dashimaki rolled omelet seems like a classic.

Chicken skin simmered in miso, Hotei’s tsuboyaki, pickled cucumber. Sure, they’re a little unusual, but…

Scallops, oysters, red snow crab… that’s pretty normal,

or so I thought, but up above it says “inago candied grasshoppers”!

Canned fruit: hassaku orange, amanatsu orange, and apple. Some even have rum in them.

Lots of seafood, like crab miso, sea urchin, and oysters. Grilled mackerel ajillo. Kantsuma, habanero sardines?

The beef tendon doteyaki and saba curry also look good.

But what caught our eye was Spicy Can Extra-Hot Curry.

It says things like, “It’s truly spicy, so prepare yourself mentally and take a deep breath first.”

Sea lion meat?!

They also had funny cans like “Bakayaro” made with horse meat and venison, where you can’t help thinking, “They definitely came up with the name before deciding the ingredients.”
