Today, January 27 (Sat), a sake event called “Nada Gogo no Kura-biraki” was being held at the plaza in front of Koshien Station, so Shachomi from Nishitsu went to check it out. Sasako & Rikuchi, Nishitsu supporters, came too
Here’s a video that shows the scene at a glance↓

Wooooow! So many people came out!!!

The tables were almost completely full too.

Sixteen sake breweries from Nada Gogo were there. Every sake tasting booth had lines.

Since we’re Nishinomiya Tsushin, I wanted to drink sake from the seven Nishinomiya breweries!

I bought tasting tickets right away. 1,500 yen worth. One set is 500 yen and comes with 5 tickets

I checked the list of featured sake and wondered where to go first. Then I found Ozeki’s Osakaya sake! One of my favorites
First Cup

Aaaaah

Sold out already! It hadn’t even been two hours since the event started.

Ozeki’s classic “Karatamba (1 ticket)” was being served warm. When your body’s cold, the first cup really has to be warm sake.
Second Cup

Takarakko’s “Junmai Daiginjo Genshu (4 tickets).” This one! It’s dry, but there’s sweetness too! Dry, but you can really taste the sweetness
Third Cup

I had Hakushika’s “Hana Kohaku Yuzu & Hyuganatsu (2 tickets)”! It was perfect as a palate cleanser. Sweet yuzu flavor
Fourth Cup

I was treated to this Tokuwaka “Junmai Daiginjo Shizuku-zake Nama Genshu, Aged 4 Years (4 tickets).”
This was the face I made↓

Wow. Really. Such a good aroma. Kind of like strawberries? It’s the kind of flavor that makes you say “gorgeous.” You’ve got to try this one
Fifth Cup

Nihonsakari’s “Soka (2 tickets).” This is the sake used at Imperial Household events. A sure winner
Sixth Cup

Shimabijin’s “Bijin Club Junmai Genshu Koshu (3 tickets),” a sake aged for over 20 years. It was the darkest in color too!!! This tasted like nothing I’d ever had before!! It seriously tastes like 20 years lol
Seventh Cup?

Hakutaka was sold out tooooIt sold out fastest among the 16 breweries
Today’s sake isn’t carried at Hakutaka Rokusuien, and Hakutaka’s head office was closed too, so they couldn’t go pick up more. All we can do is look forward to the kura-biraki on 3/3!

Next, we’ll share some of the other fun things besides the sake.
All Kinds of Things Besides Sake

People were really getting into the performance by Nada Gogo’s band, “Sakana Babies.”

Tarzan Yamashita, familiar from Kiss FM, was there as the MC and kept the crowd excited.

A water truck from the Nishinomiya City Waterworks and Sewerage Bureau was also there. It was great as yawaragi-mizu, water to sip between sake tastings. I got about five cups

Apparently, this water truck was also dispatched for the recent Noto Peninsula earthquake. This emergency drinking water holds 6 liters. It’s designed so you can carry it on your back

Yakitori! They had tons of orders coming in, and the wait was 30 minutes. I had the thigh, and charcoal-grilled really is the best

The charcoal-grilled teriyaki sandwiches were sold out too. This was just an hour and a half after the event started. I’m curious about the Iga Ninja eggs

We were livestreaming the event, and amid this huge crowd, there was a pigeon. A true festival of peace

Pulled pork. I had this before at an event in a park in Nishinomiyahama. Honestly, I really love it

Pork steak. It was about three times more tender than you’d expect. If you find it, you should buy it

Oh. What’s this line for?

Kasujiru tasting comparison?! That’s unusual.
