Here’s what Nihonsakari’s Kurabiraki brewery opening event looked like from around 2:00 p.m. on Friday, February 23. This is Shachomi’s fourth straight week reporting from a Kurabiraki event.
It was packed! Another huge crowd this year. Apparently it had already thinned out by this time.

This time, the paid tasting set came with this clear Nihonsakari masu cup, and getting to taste sake with it was kind of fun.
If you bought the tasting set through the Nihonsakari app, they served sake with gold leaf in it.

There were all kinds of food and drink booths too.
This is amazing!! They really went all out.
There were three kinds of “art cappuccino.” They seemed to be selling pretty well.
The “Nihonsakari Margherita” was a double-cheese menu item. This one was loaded too lol.
Of course, the lucky bags were sold out.
The limited-price sales corner had items selling out one after another. But they had some unusual products for sale.
They were selling the “Yuzu” version of JAPAN SODA, which had just been released yesterday. Apparently it pairs well with seafood side dishes. This was really good.
“綺縁 -KIEN-” is a sake made in collaboration between Konan University and Nihonsakari. It had a fresh muscat-and-peach-like feel. This one was easy to drink too.
The kasujiru was sold out.
What even is this lol.
The contest to beautifully wrap Nihonsakari’s signature sake “Souhana” was also really lively.
This Souhana barrel is the one presented when His Majesty the Emperor attends sumo as an imperial spectator. The Souhana barrel, which is not normally sold, was available to just 100 people. I lined up but couldn’t get one.
