Taguchi is a true Miyakko, having spent his youth in Nishinomiya at Hiraki Junior High School, Nishinomiya Kita High School, and Kwansei Gakuin University. Apparently, he gladly accepted the appointment, saying, “I want to give back, even just a little, for all that Nishinomiya has done in raising me.”

In 1991, Taguchi was drafted in the first round by the Orix BlueWave, as they were known at the time, and was known for his impressive speed. He also played for three teams in Major League Baseball, is good friends with Ichiro, and apparently they often played catch together during their active years. What an incredible pair🤗

With experience as a coach and farm team manager for Orix, plus three published books to his name, Taguchi is accomplished in both athletics and academics. As a Board of Education member, he’ll surely support Nishinomiya’s young Miyakko! In the near future, students from Nishinomiya may be making their mark all over the place〜.
