The kids were absolutely thrilled, and we even got to hear some behind-the-scenes stories about his home-building plans〜！Let’s take a look at what the event was like that day.
We went to see Toritani’s talk show event
We arrived at ABC Housing Nishinomiya Sakagura-dori Housing Park, located along Fudaba-suji Line!
Wow, so many people had already gathered〜〜〜

Since it was Sunday, there seemed to be lots of families. It was warm and sunny that day, and it felt great〜
Whoaーーー！！Toritani is here〜〜〜〜〜！！So cool〜〜〜〜〜〜
Photos were allowed this time, so everyone had their smartphones ready. Everyone looked so happy〜
Speaking of Toritani, he holds the second-longest consecutive games played streak in professional baseball history, with 1,939 games! He’s famous for his incredibly durable body, but when he was in elementary school, he wasn’t only playing baseball〜.
In fact, he also seriously practiced judo, soccer, and basketball! From there, he said his baseball skills naturally kept improving, and that playing various sports helped him build his body. That must be the secret behind his super-tough physique📝
Toritani’s priorities for building a home were really simple. During his professional baseball career, there were times when he was away from home more than half the time,
“The most important thing is that my wife, who spends the most time there, can live comfortably!” So he apparently left all the daily flow and layout decisions to his wife. So thoughtful.
As for Toritani himself, “As long as I had a training room and a big closet, those two things were enough!” He even said he relaxes at home by looking at the clothes in his closet〜. It was great to hear such an unexpected side of him!
And then, the kids got super excited for the rock-paper-scissors contest, where the winner could play catch with Toritani! The kids who won were absolutely delighted〜
Even when a kid dropped the ball, Toritani gently called out, “Let’s go again!” He was so kind and wonderful!
On top of that, he signed the ball they used too. It was a super luxurious talk show〜
A line formed after the event ended!
Apparently there was a visitor gift that everyone could receive after the event. You just scan the QR code at the Center House you entered at the start with your smartphone,
then show the QR code that appears after answering the survey, and you can get your gift〜.
