Hyogo Prefecture’s first bilingual kindergarten. Opened just last year in Nagata-cho along the Nakatsuhama Line in Nishinomiya, this huge kindergarten is “Kids Duo International(Kids Duo International) Nishinomiya-kitaguchi”

A bilingual kindergarten with a school building so spacious it’s surprising!
In addition to English education based on immersion learning for young children, it focuses on intellectual education conducted in Japanese and physical education guided by sports science. It is a school that combines childcare and education. Unlike international schools, one of its features is that it also puts strong emphasis on education in Japanese, the children’s native language. In Kansai, this is apparently the second Kids Duo International school after Kids Duo International Toyonaka, which opened in Toyonaka City, Osaka Prefecture in 2020. (Below, we’ll call it KDI)
Here it is on the map↓
The address is 5-1 Nagata-cho, Nishinomiya City, Hyogo Prefecture.

This pleasant open space is the schoolyard. And it’s really spacious. Since it has artificial turf, it feels reassuring too.

The Hankyu Railway runs right next to KDI Nishinomiya-kitaguchi, but the building’s windows use “T-4 sashes,” which offer top-level sound insulation, so we couldn’t hear the trains at all.

This is a place where children can learn English, Japanese, exercise, and even how society works, allowing them to “grow while having fun.”

Starting from the youngest class (2-year-olds), they have something called ninja play, and it’s great that children can build their physical abilities through as many as 300 different programs.
Also, what personally stood out to me was this:

The “career experience corner”, where kids can enjoy realistic pretend play in an all-English environment.

You’d think this is just pretend cooking, right?

They also do actual cooking practice (making sweets). That has to be fun.

They can also play shop.

Super realistic KDI-original money. They even get paid properly!

They can try a babysitter experience too.

They put on costumes and fully get into their career experience roles. It’s also pretty fresh that they can naturally learn how society works.

When you hear that “native teachers lead most of the day in English,” you might picture a fairly full-fledged international school, but apparently, during intellectual education time, children can also learn proper Japanese usage.

Being able to learn both English and Japanese in a well-balanced way is definitely a key feature of KDI!

school buses run and cover a wide area, including Nishinomiya of course, as well as Takarazuka, Itami, Amagasaki, Ashiya, and even around Kobe, making the commute easy. (For details, please contact KDI.)
