When it comes to kids’ lessons, swimming, dance, and piano are popular choices, but did you know ballet is pretty amazing too?
Here it is↓

The moment she touches the needle, the entire kingdom stops for 100 years! It’s the one where a princess falls into an eternal sleep and is awakened by the prince’s kiss! This super-famous work will be performed for free in Nishinomiya〜
A Full-Length Performance of “The Sleeping Beauty”

What’s So Great About Learning Ballet?

- Straight posture! Standing presence like a flight attendant
The five positions help build posture and core strength, making even everyday walking look elegant. As a parent, it’s nice to know your child can make a great impression just by standing, whether in future interviews or photos. - Music × expression helps the heart grow
Because children express emotions with their bodies in time with the rhythm, they develop focus, sensitivity, and self-expression. Lessons are safe and taught in small groups, so even first-timers can try it with confidence. - Stage debuts build courage and self-confidence
At the annual recital, children get the rewarding experience of standing in the spotlight. The sense of unity they build with their friends also becomes a precious asset. That “I did it!” smile after the performance is probably a lifelong treasure for both parent and child.
The school offers safety-first, small-group instruction. Teachers help each student step up at their own pace, so it’s fine even for kids who aren’t great at sports〜.

You Can See the Real Thing〜
Kishida Maiko Ballet School has been running for 25 years in Hinoke-cho, Nishinomiya. This welcoming school, attended by students from ages 3 to 70, will present a gorgeous fairy-tale production as the culmination of its work on 9/6. Admission is free and all seats are reserved, but for moms who want to watch carefully from the center block, the 2,000 yen invitation seat return is recommended!

Since it’s free, it’s also a chance to see how your child reacts. If they say, “I want to try that too!” it might be a good idea to go for a trial lesson〜. Those who want good seats or want to support the stage can do so through the crowdfunding campaign, which closes on 7/31〜

Finally
My own child did ballet back in kindergarten, and I still clearly remember that face with the full-on pure white stage makeup〜. You can watch it for free, it’s being held nearby, and since it’s such a famous work, it may be worth seeing at least once from a cultural perspective too〜.
