To help promote better health among Nishinomiya residents, the “Nishinomiya City Health Points Program” is apparently getting started!
This article is brought to you by “ALBOBBY,” a salon that supports Nishitsu.

It seems that eligible residents were already sent envelopes like the one above on June 18!
A lot of people may have received one and wondered, “What’s this?”
What Are Nishinomiya City Health Points?
this program is for Nishinomiya residents aged 70 and older. By using a smartphone app and other tools to take part in walking and health events, participants can earn points and exchange them for gift certificates and more!
That’s right! The point of this program is that exercise and health activities turn into points👴! Haha

How Do You Apply?
The “App Course”, accepting 2,000 participants
Apply here → Karada Karte
※Applications are open until July 31. However, registration will close once 2,000 people have applied.

There is also an “Activity Tracker Course” accepting 8,000 participants (1,000 yen shipping fee required)! → For details, see Health Points Program|Nishinomiya City
For both courses, participants need to cooperate with surveys before and after the program, and attend an “information session”!

Once you collect 3,000 points, you can choose an item you’d like to exchange them for from the list below! (※Apparently you decide when you apply.)

For example, walking 3,000 steps in a day earns you 5 points,
and getting a health checkup earns you 500 points…
So it’s not just an app that’s good for your health. Getting rewarded with prizes for your effort is pretty motivating!
Finally
I recently started using a step counter app myself, and I was shocked by my weekly step count!
It was just under 15,000 steps over seven days…😅
I thought I was walking way more than that!😱
Knowing how much exercise you actually get day to day can be a good wake-up call that makes you think, “I really need to move more…”😰 So if you’re interested, give it a try!
