When summer comes around, it feels like eel season, doesn’t it? (^o^)
This article is brought to you by “GenkiStyle,” a foot treatment clinic that supports Nishitsu.
With that day coming up soon, two of us went to eat eel at “きた八,” a restaurant that’s been around for 23 years~

If you’re thinking of going out for eel, I recommend calling ahead to make a reservation.
The Food at “きた八”
Uzaku 2,500 yen
It has just the right vinegared taste without that sharp tang, with fluffy meat and crisp skin.

And each piece of eel is big~
Even mama@Nishitsu, who hardly drinks, couldn’t help but murmur, “This would go so well with sake.”
Umaki 1,650 yen
The egg is so smooth~
The eel and egg really bring out the best in each other…
The dashi is perfect too…Basically, what I’m trying to say is: it’s amazing~

When you lift it up, the umaki is so soft it looks like it might fall apart at any moment, proof that it’s full of dashi.
Premium Hitsumabushi(one whole eel) 5,000 yen

Lightly mix the eel and rice in the wooden tub.
Then divide it into quarters and enjoy it in four servings.
For the first serving, eat it as is.
For the second serving, add wasabi.
For the third serving, add mitsuba and wasabi, then pour dashi over it.
For the fourth serving, eat it whichever way you liked best.

This is the moment when you get seriously excited😀

For the second serving, add wasabi.
Crisp on the outside, fluffy on the inside, and it just melts when you eat it. So irresistible~

For the third serving, we poured dashi over it~
Both the flavor and portion were more than enough to fully enjoy the eel, and we went home completely full~(^o^)
The Menu at “きた八”

When making a reservation, you need to tell them how many eels you’ll be ordering.
It’s probably best to have a rough idea of what you want before calling.
