It looks like plans are moving forward for a new Hankyu station around the Mukogawa area.
We went to take a look around the area where the new station is expected to be built, so here’s what we found.
(Thanks to Iroha-san, Bee-san, and Moyamu-san for the tips!)
This article is brought to you by “Nishinomiya Kitaguchi Dental and Oral Surgery, open year-round,” a dental clinic that supports Nishitsu.
According to the announcement made on September 3, it seems that Nishinomiya City, Amagasaki City, Hyogo Prefecture, and Hankyu Railway, through a study committee, have agreed to begin discussions toward making the project more concrete for the new Mukogawa Station (tentative name).
Here’s the location↓

The new station is planned to be built right on top of the Mukogawa River ヽ(^o^)丿, roughly halfway between Hankyu Nishinomiya-Kitaguchi and Mukonoso!
Here it is on the map↓
There is no address listed.
Apparently, this has been under consideration since the early Showa period.
“Whaaat!!! Finally😳!!?? I thought it was just a rumor!! It’s really going to happen😳💦💦”
I’m guessing that’s probably everyone’s reaction ヽ(^o^)丿

Captured from Nishinomiya City: Study on the New Hankyu Station Around Mukogawa (Tentative) (PDF)
This is what the new station might look like !(^^)!
So we went to check out the site!

This is the south side on the Nishinomiya side, where the new station is planned. It’s a quiet residential neighborhood.

The north side is also a calm residential area.

There are even some fields ヽ(^o^)丿

At the nearby Hinocho Community Hall, there was a sign saying “The community’s wish: Mukogawa Station!” It feels like it had already been there about 20 years ago…

The south side on the Amagasaki side was also,

and the north side too, a quiet residential area.
For comparison, we also went to see Hanshin Mukogawa Station, since the image is pretty similar !(^^)!

A station on top of the river~ヽ(^o^)丿

This is what the Nishinomiya side looks like.

There’s a ticket gate on the Amagasaki side too!
The new station is expected to prioritize access for pedestrians and bicycles,
so it’ll probably turn out something like this~(#^.^#)
We’ll let you know when there are more detailed updates!
※Iroha-san, Bee-san, and Moyamu-san, thank you for the information!!
