The cherry blossom return gift was added on the 5th of this month.
The newly developed variety, Miya no Hina Zakura, is a cherry blossom you can enjoy viewing in a pot, and it’s the newest cherry blossom to join the family of Nishinomiya sakura!
What makes it feel so Nishinomiya is the bottle the sapling comes in!
The city hall website says it’s a one-cup bottle, so it must be one from Ozeki!
The saplings are made by culturing cells from the parent cherry tree in sterile conditions, then planted in a nutrient-rich jelly-like medium and placed inside a one-cup bottle.
Apparently, you can enjoy looking at it as is until you take it out of the bottle about two months later (^_^)/
