Awajiya, a bento shop, opened at Nishinomiya Hankyu on Thursday, March 24.
We’ll introduce three kinds of bento, including the super-famous Hipparidako Meshi, of course(^^)/
Awajiya Bento
Hipparidako Meshi 1,151 yen
Akashi’s famous Hipparidako Meshi was created in 1998 as an ekiben for JR Sanyo Shinkansen Nishi-Akashi Station, commemorating the opening of the Akashi Kaikyo Bridge♪

It comes with simmered octopus, simmered conger eel, octopus tempura-style fish paste, bamboo shoots, shredded omelet, and more.
The rice is thoroughly seasoned too. No wonder it’s an Akashi specialty~
They call it “umani” simmered octopus, and yep, it’s umai—delicious~😀
Enro Shunshun 1,150 yen
You can feel spring🌸 from this bento~I’d love to eat this under cherry blossoms😍
Seasonal sansai wild vegetables, bamboo shoots, ikanago no kugini, and more~(^^)/
There are so many different side dishes, and it’s so nice getting to nibble on a little bit of everythingggg

Personally, I got really excited that it had sakura mochi in it🤗🤗🤗

This bento also has an impressive piece of octopus.
Octopus! As expected😀

Soy Sauce Koji Chicken Tempura Bento 681 yen
This one is an original bento from Hankyu♪
It comes with three big, impressive pieces of chicken tempura!!!! The chicken tempura seems to use breast meat, so it’s nice and tender😄
Under the chicken tempura is, surprisingly, ten-grain rice with kanten agar😀Sounds super healthy

Salt koji, soy sauce koji, and sweet koji are used generously, and apparently the focus is on “fermentation” and “aging”~
The side dishes, which had enough care put into them to be stars in their own right, were great too~
