I went to Ebessan’s pond to see if the irises might be blooming soon(^^)/

I thought this flower was a shobu iris, but it’s actually called a kakitsubata iris(^^)/

Hanashobu irises, kakitsubata irises, and ayame irises look similar, but apparently you can tell them apart by the patterns on their petals.
If the petal pattern is white, it’s kakitsubata; if it’s white and yellow, it’s hanashobu; and if it has a white and yellow net-like pattern, it’s ayamea little fun fact(^^)/
When I got close to the pond to take photos, the koi came over↓

The orange one in the upper left is totally looking this way and asking for food!At least that’s what it felt like to me
And then,

It was clearly staring right at me with wide-open eyes, demanding something. I made eye contact with a koi!!

While I was distracted by the red koi, this one was staring hard, “talking” to meits mouth was open, and making a very intense requestAt least that’s what it felt like(^_^;)

If this makes you want to feed them, koi food is sold at the teahouse(^^)/

There were also loooong wisteria blossoms blooming near the pond(^^)/Photographed on April 25
