At the beginning of June, while I was strolling along Oasis Road by the Shukugawa River…
When I casually looked up at the trees, I noticed there were already so many attached to them❗
This is the tree. Can you see what’s attached to it? Look near the top!!
Zoomed in↓

June had only just started, but it looks like lots of them have already emerged.
Cicadas!!!
Surely they’re not from last year, right? 💦
I feel like I haven’t heard a single cicada yet this year, but it’s already quietly getting started. That season of huge early-morning choruses… 📢📢📢
People living near parks might feel worn out every morning, but I’m looking forward to the season when kids with nets and insect cages get totally absorbed in cicada hunting♪
On the map, it’s around here↓
The address is around 1 Kamiyoshihara-cho, Nishinomiya, Hyogo.
Finally
They weren’t just on this tree, but attached to trees all over the place. There are all kinds of trees around here, but for some reason I feel like cicadas often emerge on pine trees 🤔. Maybe they’re easy to climb? How mysterious 😁
