The Origin of “甲子園六石町”
甲子園六石町
The name comes from a local story about the “Rokkoku no Watashi” ferry crossing, where the teahouse’s rice cakes reportedly sold as much as six koku (about 1,000 L) every day. Since the area was part of the former Imazu area, it was named Imazu Rokkoku-cho in 1940, but in 1964 it was renamed “Koshien Rokkoku-cho” after Koshien Stadium.For details, see here
