Tomorrow, 11/2 (Wed), as part of the “Hyogo Prefecture Tsunami Evacuation Drill” in preparation for a Nankai Trough earthquake, smartphones will all start ringing at once from 10:00 a.m. with emergency alerts〜!
(Information provided by Toshiya Nakanishi. Thank you!)

November 5 is “World Tsunami Awareness Day”, apparently.
The drill is held every year on November 5, but since the 5th falls on a Saturday this year, it looks like it has been moved to tomorrow, November 2.

In Nishinomiya City

- At exactly 10:00, an emergency earthquake alert will be broadcast through “disaster prevention speakers” and other systems
- At 10:02, an “Emergency Alert Email (Area Mail)” will be sent out
Let’s use this opportunity to check things like ShakeOut drills, how to evacuate from a tsunami, and how to contact family members during a disaster〜🙋
What is a ShakeOut drill? ↓
Lastly
The warning sound could be “chararararan♪,” “fan-faan♪(the scary one),” or “pew-pew(the even scarier one)”… We don’t know which one will go off, but even if your phone is on silent mode, they’ll all ring at once, so please be a little careful around that time〜💁
It really makes your heart jump, doesn’t it…😅
Toshiya Nakanishi, thank you for the information!!
