Some surprisingly colorful Nishikigoi seem to be in the Rokutanji River for some reason

Apparently, a pretty brightly colored Nishikigoi koi has somehow ended up in the Rokutanji River.

The address is around 2 Toda-cho, Nishinomiya City, Hyogo Prefecture.

The spot is along the Rokutanji River near the triangular park on the City Hall Front Line.

This statue in the triangular park is the landmark.

It’s a fairly vivid-looking Nishikigoi koi.

It was spotted by Sensei @ Nishi2.

I pass by this river almost every day, but this is the first time I’ve seen such a rare fish here. It probably escaped from somewhere.

It seems to have moved about 100 meters from the spot where it was first found, to the north side of the Naruo-Mikage Line.

Was it released into the river? Nishikigoi apparently eat quite a variety of things, so even though the river doesn’t seem all that clean, it may be managing to live there just fine.
