It looks like Henri Charpentier’s financier will be renewed starting Wednesday, September 27.

Here it is↓

It seems they’ve started transporting the almonds, which are essential for financiers, at a low temperature of 8 degrees. This apparently helps prevent oxidation and maintain almonds with a strong aroma.

We went to Henri Charpentier’s Sakagura-dori shop.
Here it is on the map↓
The address is Harbor Studio 43 Main Building South Wing, 5-16 Kubocho, Nishinomiya, Hyogo.

There were tons of cakes at the front.

So many kinds.

The design of the chocolate cake “Sachertorte” is so cool.

This is a cream puff with pudding inside. I’m curious.

I really do like fruit-based sweets. Ten kinds of fruit feels luxurious.

Personally, I love these kinds of tart, tangy cakes.
Oh, right, cakes weren’t what we came for!

It’s the financier.
This financier sells so well that in 2021, October 1 was established as “Ashiya’s World No. 1 Financier Day” to commemorate it as the world’s best-selling financier.

Henri’s financier. I’m sure most of you have had it at least once, or maybe two or three times.

Some of you might also know these eight types of financiers.

Both the previous version and the new version were being sold at Henri Charpentier on Sakagura-dori, so we bought them.

They’re made very close to the shop.

The new financier is on the left, and the previous financier is on the right.

Let’s open them up and see what they’re actually like.

Even for someone like me who doesn’t have the sharpest nose, the almond aroma of the new one felt about 20% stronger.
We tried it↓

Of course, the flavor had definitely improved too. It’s great to see one of Nishinomiya’s go-to souvenir sweets powered up.
In Closing
Henri Charpentier’s financiers were already delicious, but making them even better shows just how committed they are to staying ahead.
