On a clear autumn day, I
went to Kannōji Temple (神呪寺) at the foot of Mt. Kabutoyama.

The Niōmon Gate is set a little below the road. From below, you can see the stairs leading all the way up to the main hall.

Kōmokuten,

and Zōchōten…..

I climbed the long staircase. If you look closely, you can see the center of the main hall at the top of the stairs on the right ← maybe the proper way is to go up the stairs on the right and come down on the left..

Kōbō Daishi (the elderly man in the neighborhood called him Odaishi-san),

and Yūzū Kannon (this historic Kannon statue is unveiled once a year on May 18) are enshrined here.

Believe it or not! Kannōji Temple has lots of cultural properties.

And the view from the observation deck was really beautiful😊. I could see mountains far off in the distance.

You could also see Osaka Bay from the spot where you can ring the bell. The offering is 20 yen per ring… anyone can ring it!(^^)!

I enjoyed the view on the stairs on the way back too, while watching my step!(^^)!
