Hirota Shrine has been chosen as Japan’s No. 2 good-fortune money spot.
(Photo and information provided by Iroha & Kagayaki No. 509. Thank you!)
Here it is↓
It was selected as No. 2 from 20,000 votes by users of the asset management service “TORANOKO.”
Since this is the combined result of a survey of people who actually invest their money, it has a strangely convincing feel to it.
What was interesting was the shrines ranked near the top for money luck.
| Rank | Shrine Name | Prefecture/City |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Zeniarai Benzaiten Ugafuku Shrine | Kamakura City, Kanagawa Prefecture |
| 2 | Hirota Shrine | Nishinomiya City, Hyogo Prefecture |
| 3 | Kamochi Shrine | Hino Town, Hino District, Tottori Prefecture |
| 4 | Kanahebi Sui Shrine | Iwanuma City, Miyagi Prefecture |
| 5 | Usa Jingu Shrine | Usa City, Oita Prefecture |
| 6 | Hoto Shrine | Karatsu City, Saga Prefecture |
| 7 | Omiwa Shrine | Sakurai City, Nara Prefecture |
| 8 | Oarai Isosaki Shrine | Oarai Town, Ibaraki Prefecture |
| 9 | Kogane Shrine | Gifu City, Gifu Prefecture |
| 10 | Anahachimangu Shrine | Shinjuku Ward, Tokyo |
The shrines in the top 10 almost all have names related to money.
So seeing Hirota Shrine ranking among them is pretty amazing. Maybe it’s one of those shrines where, for some reason, money luck just follows you

For the first shrine visit of 2024, food stalls were lined up and the place was lively. Kagayaki No. 509, a Nishitsu supporter, went for hatsumode

Oh, there’s some kind of digital information board.

You can display all kinds of information about Hirota Shrine just by touching the monitor. Handy! Apparently it’s called Shrine Navita

It’s also famous nationwide as the shrine where the Hanshin Tigers pray for victory.

Hirota Shrine is known as a highly prestigious shrine, and its founding is even recorded in the Nihon Shoki, Japan’s oldest official history. It used to be classified as a Former Imperial Shrine, placing it in the highest tier of the shrine ranking system. The same as Izumo Taisha. (This ranking system was abolished after the war, though.) So it’s a Former Imperial Shrine
We hope it helps as a reference for visiting Nishinomiya’s many shrines, where you might pick up not just money luck, but all kinds of good fortune!

When you hear that Hirota Shrine can bring money luck, it does make you a little curious, doesn’t it? Hirota Shrine also has a parking lot, so if you’ve never been, definitely check it out.
