Nishinomiya Tsushin partner and cram school selection pro Tani-san from “Juku Sherpa” has put together a summary of the acceptance ratios for recommendation and special-selection entrance exams at public high schools in Nishinomiya for Reiwa 6!
Now, Tani-san, take it away.

The other day, the results were announced for the Reiwa 6 (R6) Hyogo Prefectural public high school recommendation and special-selection entrance exams. Congratulations to everyone who passed!
The Hyogo Prefectural Board of Education has released the acceptance ratios for each school, so I’ve summarized the figures for high schools in the city over the past three years.
Here are the ratios for the past three years↓

In entrance exams, there is sometimes a phenomenon where “the year after the acceptance ratio becomes high, the acceptance ratio becomes low, and the year after the acceptance ratio becomes low, the acceptance ratio becomes high.” This is what’s often called a “swing-back phenomenon.”
This trend is also quite strong among high schools in Nishinomiya, with the “swing-back phenomenon” occurring at 8 of the 12 schools listed in the table.
The exceptions are the four schools/programs: Municipal Nishinomiya (Global Science), Prefectural Nishinomiya (Music credit-based program), Municipal Nishinomiya Higashi (Integrated Humanities), and Nishinomiya Kabutoyama (General).
| School Name | Department | R6 Ratio | R5 Ratio | R4 Ratio |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Naruo | International Culture and Information Studies | 1.13 | 1.35 | 1.00 |
| Municipal Nishinomiya | Global Science | 2.48 | 2.28 | 2.23 |
| Prefectural Nishinomiya | Music credit-based program | 1.00 | 1.00 | 1.00 |
| Municipal Nishinomiya Higashi | Natural Sciences | 1.93 | 2.00 | 1.48 |
| Municipal Nishinomiya Higashi | Integrated Humanities | 1.78 | 1.68 | 1.48 |
| Prefectural Nishinomiya | General credit-based program | 1.76 | 1.59 | 2.11 |
| Nishinomiya Imazu | Integrated Studies | 1.00 | 1.22 | 1.05 |
| Naruo | General | 1.28 | 1.28 | 1.35 |
| Nishinomiya Kita | General | 1.30 | 1.00 | 1.65 |
| Nishinomiya Kabutoyama | General | 1.00 | 1.00 | 1.00 |
| Nishinomiya Minami | General | 1.21 | 1.96 | 1.29 |
| Municipal Nishinomiya | General | 1.30 | 1.78 | 1.50 |
In particular, Municipal Nishinomiya (Global Science) and Municipal Nishinomiya Higashi (Integrated Humanities) are highly popular as academically strong schools, and their acceptance ratios have risen for two consecutive years.
On Tuesday, March 12, the general selection exams for public high schools will be held. In some cases, you may be able to change your preferred school even after submitting your application, so please keep giving it your best until the very end!
Good luck, exam takers!
