Iroha, a Nishitsu supporter, went to see two kinds of cherry blossoms blooming at Yatsumatsu Park in Koshien Rokubancho.
The first kind↓

This is a cherry tree native to China called Shina-mizakura. It seems to produce cherries around June. But apparently they’re small and don’t taste very good
Here it is on the map↓
The address is 11-12 Koshien Rokubancho, Nishinomiya City, Hyogo Prefecture.
The second kind↓

Hinahachijozakura. It’s apparently a very rare variety and was even featured in the Kobe Shimbun. Also, the only other place in Nishinomiya where it blooms seems to be Hana Kobo in Naruohama, a facility that produces and grows flower seedlings, including Nishinomiya City’s original plants. (It was written about in detail on this blog)
Apparently it looks spectacular when it reaches full bloom. I don’t know when that will be, but if you’re interested, why not go when the timing feels just right?
Iroha@Nishitsu sp, thank you for the tip!!
