I went to see the cherry blossoms along the Shukugawa River around lunchtime today, 4/2.
Here↓

Some people were already enjoying hanami
By the way, this is around Shukugawa Public Hall.

Looking at just this photo, you might think, “They’re blooming like crazy! We’d better hurry!” but…

Looks like they should still be good through the weekend

The weeping cherry blossoms are still only blooming here and there, so I think they’ll probably be fine until around the weekend.

The park area around Katahoko Pond was also blooming a little.

Finally
This weekend, Saturday and Sunday, should be perfect for cherry blossom viewing. As of now, Saturday the 6th is forecast to be cloudy, and Sunday the 7th cloudy with occasional sunshine. No rain is expected. Since it looks like it won’t rain on Friday, Saturday, or Sunday, checking out the nighttime cherry blossom light-up on Friday might be a good idea too.
