Yesterday, August 1, marked the 100th anniversary of Hanshin Koshien Stadium, so I went to take a look and wanted to share what it was like〜.

August 1 (Thu) was, of course, a weekday. It was 4 p.m., but there were a lot of people.

A Hanshin station staff member. They’re wearing a Koshien Stadium 100th anniversary badge.

Today was the final day of the three-game series against the Giants that started on July 30. And they’d already played two straight games

Corowa, Starbucks, Lawson, and the station-front plaza.

People who live in Koshien may be used to seeing the area packed with Hanshin fans,

but even as someone from Shukugawa in the same Nishinomiya, I always find it amazing〜. Maybe next time I’ll ask what percentage of people are from outside Nishinomiya, and where they’re coming from〜

What they’re pointing at is probably the large roof at Koshien Station. It looks a bit like the large roof at JR Osaka Station too〜

Oh! This looks like something from the Hanshin Tigers.

They totally planned this, right?

Let’s see what things look like in front of the newly renovated Corowa Koshien〜

The logs in the newly built plaza are getting plenty of use too. This photo was taken on an iPhone 11, so it’s pretty grainy

This is Fukuro’s Hiroshima-yaki, which 89% of Nishi2 readers didn’t know comes to the front of Corowa. You can buy it for 600 yen.

A fun Hanshin Railway vending machine.

They collected drawings of Hanshin trains and printed them on it. I wonder if any kids from Nishinomiya won〜

This coupling!! It’s full of dreams〜〜! If it’s Hanshin Railway, maybe they’ll make it happen?!

Below 43. This area in front of Koshien Stadium is where Hanshin fans gather in huge numbers.

Everyone is taking commemorative photos〜

It’s the age of smartphones now. I wonder if people used to take photos here with disposable cameras like Utsurundesu〜

The 100th anniversary, on this day, in this place, for the classic rivalry game. I’m sure these photos will become treasured memories.

Koshien Stadium is here in Nishinomiya… and yet people still probably think, “Koshien Stadium is in Osaka,” don’t they〜. Everyone across Japan! Koshien Stadium is in Nishinomiya〜

There’s some kind of line forming around Mizuno Square.

They’re taking photos of something〜〜〜!

I see, it was a line to take commemorative photos with the 100th anniversary countdown board that was installed one year ago〜
Photo from when it was installed↓

It was counting down like this.

The “100-Year Food Festival” was also being held that day, with gourmet vendors from around Japan serving dishes like Fujinomiya yakisoba, Kakogawa katsumeshi, and Takasago nikuten with tendon meat.

The place with a huge line was Tsu Gyoza, a local specialty born from school lunches in Tsu City. I wanted to try it〜

The Hanshin Tigers collaboration bento boxes were selling out one after another too〜

Do you know this beer?

Believe it or not, they were also selling “Asahi Classic,” a beer that was sold 100 years ago〜. I want to drink it again〜
