The Imazu Junior High School Wind Band is a legendary school band that has long led Japan’s wind band scene.
Wind Orchestra Imazu is a community band founded by alumni of the wind band to commemorate the 50th anniversary of Imazu Junior High School. Today, many members who are not alumni also take part, and the group continues to contribute to Nishinomiya’s cultural life.
Imazu Friendly Kids is a wind band club launched in 1995 for students at Imazu Elementary School. Today, many members from outside Imazu Elementary School also participate, and it performs as an elementary school brass band. It is the only elementary school band in Nishinomiya.
These three bands with deep ties to Imazu will come together to hold a concert as a way of giving back to the community.
