Western-style restaurant “Grill Ippei” Nishinomiya is celebrating its 2nd anniversary on December 22〜🎉 To mark the occasion, they’ve introduced a brand-new hashed beef. Shachomi went right away to try it〜

It’s described as “a menu item filled with gratitude for reaching the 2nd anniversary,” and here it is:
Hashed Beef Salad Set 1,000 yen
“Isn’t 1,000 yen with a salad included pretty affordable?” When we asked, they said this dish was created with the idea of “offering something customers can enjoy at a price that’s easy to come back for.” This menu item is a Nishinomiya-only special
They said it’s “made by slowly simmering the beef tendon that comes from trimming the fillet meat used for beef cutlets.” It’s so tender and has such a nice bite, you’d hardly think it was tendon. No matter how much you eat, there are chunks of meat everywhere. So luxurious! (Apparently there’s 80g of meat in it)
The moment you put it in your mouth, the richness of the demi-glace sauce hits you, and then, how should I put it? The flavor of the meat spreads out. The black pepper gives it a grown-up taste, too〜
The cabbage, cucumber, and tomato are all so fresh and juicy〜! Having a salad included really is nice.

It has plenty of spice, but also a solid sweetness, the kind everyone from adults to kids will love〜.
What both dishes have in common is the umami of meat simmered for a long time. And I’m pretty sure the sweetness of the meat has soaked into the whole curry.
The meat mixed together with the curry is meltingly tender and springy〜.
Of course, it comes with fukujinzuke pickles, too. This was an extremely satisfying dish〜!

The hashed beef at “Grill Ippei” was incredibly hearty and satisfying, to the point that it didn’t feel like a 1,000 yen dish at all〜. If you want plenty of meat, go for the hashed beef; if you want meat that’s super soft and bouncy, the curry is the one to try. Give them a go for lunch or dinner🎉
