“I’d like my child to try soccer, but matches feel like a bit much…”
If that sounds like you, moms and dads, this is news you’ll want to see!

The sports club “NOBY SOCCER CLUB,” operated by Osaka Gas Network, has newly launched this spring! Nishinomiya now has a place where everyone from preschoolers to elementary school students, even beginners, can enjoy giving soccer a try.

The coaching staff includes Head Coach Masanori Takahashi, who spent many years coaching at Cerezo Osaka and also served as head coach and coach for the Kansai Futsal Select Team.

Still, Osaka Gas Network is not just about gas services. They are also putting effort into supporting sports. Along with the track and field club led by athlete Nobuharu Asahara, this soccer school was apparently started with the hope of “creating more places where local children can get active.”

You might wonder, “Do they have to play in matches?” But this club does not participate in official games, so even first-time kids can start with confidence.

The beginner-friendly “NOBY Method”
One of the biggest features is the NOBY Method, which teaches basic movements like “running,” “jumping,” and “kicking a ball” step by step according to each child’s development.

- Develops “the ability to move the body well” through coordination training
- It’s okay to make mistakes! Kids keep trying while having fun, almost like play
- Also nurtures communication and kindness among teammates
In practice, there are plenty of unique approaches such as “crawling” “jumping” and “running.” Since it is based on a playful approach, kids are likely to get absorbed in it naturally.
The venue is Osaka Gas Imazu General Ground
About a 15-minute walk from Hankyu/Hanshin Imazu Station. (800 m south of the station)

With an artificial-turf field and well-equipped facilities, it looks like an easy place for kids to really enjoy kicking the ball around!

Finally
It is just kicking a ball, but why is it so much fun? When I was a kid, I used to pretend the monkey bars at the park were goalposts and spend forever shooting for the corners. I think what made it fun was gradually getting better little by little! This could be a great chance for your child to have that kind of experience too.
