It looks like the replacement of “Morinoshita Bridge” over the Higashi River on Mitarashi-dori in Taisha-cho, which had been under construction for ages, has finally been completed!
(Thanks to Pizza Cheese and Sasako @ Nishi2-sp for the tip)
As of October 2021 (around the start of construction) ↓

Morinoshita Bridge had been getting pretty old, but…
Now ↓

After about four years of construction, a shiny new bridge has made its debut ✨ It seems to have opened for use on September 15.

Nishi2 had previously written about the replacement work on Morinoshita Bridge.
Here’s the map ↓
The address is around 12 Taisha-cho, Nishinomiya City, Hyogo Prefecture.

This is amazing to see. The old Morinoshita Bridge is on the left, and the new Morinoshita Bridge is on the right.

During construction, the old bridge was used as a detour, but it’s now closed off with guardrails,

and the route has switched over to the new bridge! I wonder what will happen to the old bridge now

Welcome, new Morinoshita Bridge 😆

Thanks for all your hard work, old Morinoshita Bridge 🤗

By the way, this space on the south side of the bridge was originally part of Hirotayama Kita Park, but it had been closed as part of the construction work. It looks like the park will be redeveloped again after this ⛲️

The view from the opposite side of the park. You can see the construction fencing in the back.

Maybe there’ll be some new playground equipment? Can’t wait to see 😄
In Closing

The bridge was replaced due to aging, but it feels like the curve is gentler than before and visibility has improved too. That’s a nice change for people in the neighborhood 😄
*Pizza Cheese and Sasako @ Nishi2-sp, thank you for the information!!
