On his final throw, he jumped all the way from 5th to 2nd place. His 54.50 m throw was a new Japanese record. He finished 4th at last year’s Paris Paralympics, and this time he seems to have earned a silver medal at the World Championships as a comeback. He’s a 25-year-old Nishinomiya native.

Finally
In a previous story where former Hanshin Tigers player Toritani also talked about this, he said he was able to strengthen his body through various sports. That may be something he has in common with Shimbo, who also took swimming lessons and practiced karate to build his body. We’re looking forward to seeing him go for gold at the 2028 Los Angeles Paralympics.
