While I was circling around the Yamaguchi-cho area, I spotted a sign with a shape that looked like Miyatan, the “light blue fairy”!
When I got closer…
Sure enough, it was “Miyatan!!”
Right next to Miyatan was their good friend “Minyakko.”
It was a sign where Miyatan is pointing out, “This is Yamaguchi-cho, Nishinomiya City.”
As a Nishinomiya resident, I have to say I’m a little jealous of this sign😅
Not only Miyatan, but even Minyakko came along too~

The address is 3-12-20 Shimoyamaguchi, Yamaguchi-cho, Nishinomiya City, Hyogo Prefecture.
If you go about 500 meters farther, you enter Kobe City (the city border is on the left side of the map), so that’s probably why a sign like this was put up.
When we contacted the Nishinomiya Tourism Association, they said this was not installed by the city.
Apparently, it was put up by the people at “Iwashi-ya,” a shop specializing in authentic handmade udon.
Readers have also told us that “Iwashi-ya” is delicious, so we’re planning to visit for a Nishi2 gourmet report sometime soon!
This is totally beside the point, but I actually have a close friend named “Miyatan.”
I guess Miyatan and I are connected by an inseparable bond~😀
