There was a rather meaningful-looking stone statue in the grounds of “Kinomoto Jizoson” in Najio, along Route 176…

It felt a little scary, but the title of the statue is “Mirror.”
I went around to the back, but there was no information about the artist or any other details…

Looking closely, there was a skull inside a human face, and within that was the face of a Buddha.
I asked someone who was cleaning the temple grounds, “What kind of meaning does this have?”
They answered,
“I personally think it means that there is a Buddha inside every person, but perhaps each viewer can interpret it in their own way.”
Since the title is “Mirror”… hmm, this is difficult (-_-;)
How do you all feel about it, and how would you interpret it?
