At Nishitsu, whenever we come across a little mystery shop that makes us wonder, “What kind of place is this?”
we visit it and write an article about it.
But this time, we found a shop that, in the truest sense,
might really be a “mystery shop～???”
We found one～(^o^)／
In Nishitsu President terms, it’s “a shop packed with content”!(^^)!
By “content,” we mean information! Basically, the idea that it’s interesting.

Shop name: “味”かど
The sign showing the business hours made Mama and me do a double take↓↓
Business hours that are way too short, plus udon and karaage that are way too cheap
The business hours look like this↓↓
Every Monday 20:30–21:00
If it’s a holiday → Tuesday
If it rains on Monday → Tuesday
If it rains on Tuesday → Closed

Karaage ￥200
Simply put:
- A shop that’s only open for 30 minutes a week
- A shop that takes the entire week off if it rains on both Monday and Tuesday
- A shop that makes you imagine they really, really dislike rain
- Or maybe a shop that closes on rainy days out of consideration for customers who would have to come shopping in the rain
- A shop so reasonably priced that you can get udon and karaage for one coin
- A shop that tickles your “I absolutely have to go” instinct because it’s only open for 30 minutes
If there’s a shop that’s only open for 30 minutes a week,
“For Nishitsu, we absolutely have to go!”
And we were curious about the extremely cheap udon and karaage too…
So of course, we went～!!
The scene at “味かど” at 20:42 on Monday, August 3↓↓
It was an ordinary Monday, and it wasn’t raining, but the shutter stayed closed.
Now you’re really curious, right～!!

When we searched on Google Maps, we found someone who had posted a photo of karaage from “味”かど～(^_^)

According to the information from the person who posted the karaage photo:
- The karaage at “味”かど is the karaage from the cafeteria at Nishinomiya Municipal Nishinomiya High School
- Normally, it only opens during the Yakujin-san festival
- During the COVID-19 state of emergency, it opened on weekdays too!
That’s what they said.
Will the next opening be during Yakujin-san, then…? （Wait! Next year!?(゜o゜)）

Since the state of emergency has been lifted, maybe they aren’t operating now…
