Dodgeball was popular!

Dodgeball

There were often kids who got hit in the face and had nosebleeds.

The schoolyard was small, and we broke a window.

When I caught a fast ball thrown by a sports-loving boy while I was in the inner court, I was so happy, like, “Yes!!”

A game called “Himawari”

Inside a big circle, the “oni” and the people who had been caught would go around, while the people escaping would move around the petals. We’d draw petals far away as little islands too. It was fun.

We collected the lids from the milk bottles served with school lunch and used them to play menko. I got really excited when I received a rare milk lid.

This isn’t really an episode, but I used to wear bloomers for gym class. They don’t have bloomers now, so I wonder if the word is obsolete lol

For me, the time I was playing tag on the hill behind the school, fell off a cliff, and broke a bone is a good (?) memory too 😂

I’d never heard of “Himawari” before, so I looked it up!
This page explains it in detail! Apparently, the number of oni keeps increasing. Scary! But it sounds fun 😊
