“SUUMO Survey on How Residents Feel About the Towns They Live In: Kansai Edition 2020” has been released.
Five stations in Nishinomiya City ranked in the top 10 of the “Towns Loved by Residents” ranking.

Kurakuen-guchi Takes 1st Place in the “Towns Loved by Residents” Ranking
1st Place: “Kurakuen-guchi” (Hankyu Koyo Line)

There are 34 survey items in total.
Here are a few examples of the kinds of questions included:
- It’s comfortable to get around on foot or by bicycle
- If you have a car, it’s easy to go anywhere
- You can find tasteful favorite items
- Sports facilities such as tennis courts and gymnasiums are well-equipped
- The streets, rows of trees, and residential areas are well organized
- The local community keeps a close watch over the area
- You can meet attractive people
- Local residents seem to like the town
- People would probably envy you for living there
- It seems to have good asset value

Kurakuen-guchi scored highest in “Sports facilities such as tennis courts and gymnasiums are well-equipped”, with a deviation score of 78.98.
Other scores included “People would probably envy you for living there” at 78.12,
and “Local residents seem to like the town” at 73.98.
3rd Place: “Koyoen” (Hankyu Koyo Line)

Koyoen scored highest in “The local community keeps a close watch over the area”, with a deviation score of 70.99.
Next was “People would probably envy you for living there”, with a deviation score of 68.89.
6th Place: “Shukugawa” (Hankyu Kobe Line)

Shukugawa scored highest in “People would probably envy you for living there”, with a deviation score of 77.97,
followed by “You can meet attractive people” at 76.77,
and “The variety of buildings and scenery feels pleasant” at 74.60.
8th Place: Koroen
Koroen scored highest in “Public facilities such as community centers are convenient and well-equipped”, with a deviation score of 73.22,
followed by “It seems to have good asset value” at 72.09,
and “Administrative services such as garbage disposal are well-developed” at 70.51.

9th Place: Sakura Shukugawa
Sakura Shukugawa scored highest in “People would probably envy you for living there”, with a deviation score of 73.31,
followed by “The streets, rows of trees, and residential areas are well organized” at 72.65,
and “Local residents seem to like the town” at 71.40.
Finally
The five stations that made the top 10 had relatively high deviation scores in categories like “Local residents seem to like the town” and “People would probably envy you for living there,” which feels fitting for a ranking of towns loved by their residents.
It’s a good thing to be able to say you “like” the town you live in.
“Kotoen” ranked 14th, and “Mondo-Yakujin” ranked 15th.

Whenever these kinds of rankings are announced, it makes you feel proud all over again, like, “Nishinomiya really is a great city.”
