We found a man in Hinocho who supports the swing no matter what.
Hino Park

The vertical scratch lines make it look like the character “由,” but this is Hino Park.
This park had five distinctive pieces of playground equipment.
Looping

It’s the kind of wooden toy you’ve probably played with at least once as a child.
Wide Slide

A wide slide with a broad sliding surface.

There’s a sandbox underneath.
Combination Playground Equipment

There’s so much going on, it’s hard to know how you’re supposed to play on it💦

Especially this pole. What are you supposed to do with it?❓❓
Hopping

There seems to be something like a spring inside, so you can bounce up and down on it.
We’ve introduced four pieces of playground equipment so far, but what exactly is this “man supporting the swing”?
The Man Supporting the Swing

Man spotted!
He’s holding it up firmly with his thin arms. Without him, you probably wouldn’t be able to play on the swing.
Looking at Street View, he was already there as of November 2011, which means he’s been supporting the swing for more than 10 years.

If you look closely, he kind of looks like a pirate.
After more than 10 years of being exposed to the rain and wind, his face is starting to fade away too. Up close, he might be a little scary😫

If the park is ever renovated, adding an eyepatch like this might make him look pretty cool.
Here’s the location on the map↓
The address is 8-8 Hinocho, Nishinomiya City, Hyogo Prefecture.
