Nishinomiya City has announced that, starting in July 2021, it will expand eligibility for children’s medical expense subsidies to include children up to third grade in elementary school.

According to Kobe Shimbun NEXT,
- Eligibility for children’s medical expense subsidies will be expanded for households whose income is at or above the standard income threshold
- From July 2021, the current eligibility range of children aged 1 through preschool will be raised to include children up to third grade in elementary school
- 5,200 children will be eligible
That means children who are currently in third grade will be eligible from July, even if only for a few months. Kind of lucky.
I can’t help wishing it would start right away instead of waiting until July 😂
It’s definitely helpful that the city will cover part of the medical expenses that tend to come up for children.
