Inside Cante Grande Opening Tomorrow at Hankyu Nishinomiya Gardens Tried the Cante Grande Plate

We got a look inside CANTE GRANDE, opening tomorrow the 22nd at Hankyu Nishinomiya Gardens!

We also tried the hearty “CANTE GRANDE Plate”, packed with curry and tandoori chicken〜😋

“CANTE GRANDE Plate” and “Chai”

“CANTE GRANDE Plate” 1,450 yen (tax included)

It comes with two kinds of curry!
One is lentil curry, and for the other you can choose from butter chicken, shrimp, spicy beef, or this month’s curry〜!

Lentil curry
I had no idea lentils were sweet〜!! I even asked, “Is there pumpkin in this?”… 😂 (embarrassing)
It was mild, but with spice and heat that made me want to eat it again.

Recommended by the staff: butter chicken
Apparently it’s the least spicy of the selectable curries!
Rather than being a sweet curry, it had a refreshing tomato flavor and felt more suited for adults.

Tandoori chicken
This is authentic tandoori chicken supervised by someone from Nepal.
It’s the spiciest item on the plate〜! (Not so spicy that you’ll break into a sweat, so you can enjoy it! lol)

Turmeric rice
With garlic and kasuri methi (leaves from a legume plant), it tastes spicy the moment you put it in your mouth!

Spicy beans and potatoes on the side.
They’re good as they are, or dipped in curry!

Papadum
It’s an Indian cracker!
A thin, crispy wheat-flour snack〜! I could get hooked on this 😋
I wish they’d sell it as a souvenir… lol

The salad dressing is the sweetest part. lol
It’s refreshing and resets the heat!

“Chai”
When you think of CANTE, you think of chai〜!

CANTE GRANDE opened in Osaka in 1972, so this year marks its 50th anniversary! (Almost the same age as Dora●mon from ’52! lol)
It’s the shop that helped spread chai throughout Osaka〜!

We visited two days before opening… 🙏
