This time it’s not a weed or wildflower, but these pink flowers blooming all over Nishinomiya without giving in to this scorching heat!!!
That pink really pops against the blue sky～(*^-^*)

The name “sarusuberi” apparently comes from the tree’s super-smooth trunk, so smooth that even monkeys could slip on it. Since the flowers bloom for a long time, it’s also called 百日紅, meaning “hundred-day red”!
It was also bearing fruit nicely (^^)/ Even in days of heat over 35°C, it’s still blooming strong!

The vivid pink sarusuberi flowers are blooming up toward the bright blue sky～ You can spot them in lots of places around Nishinomiya, so try looking for them (^^)/

At the base of the sarusuberi tree at Shukugawa Station, there was an old main pillar from Hagoromo Bridge dating back to the Taisho era.
