It looks like the Jizo statue near Omaehama Park is looking for a new home.

Here it is on the map↓
The address is around 5 Nishihatocho, Nishinomiya City, Hyogo Prefecture.
What kind of Jizo statue is it?
We went to the site and took some photos.

At the corner of the road, there’s a small shrine standing partly embedded in the wall.

Inside is a stone shrine, with a Jizo statue wearing a red bib. So cute.
Why is it looking for a new home?
Apparently, the land where the shrine stands has been sold, so the Jizo statue needs to be moved.
The statue has long been cherished in this spot, and in summer it even becomes a place for neighbors to gather during Jizo-bon. The former landowner offered to donate it to the city, but the city reportedly said it would be difficult to accept because “it is not a road facility.”
Currently, the local neighborhood association is asking residents for ideas, and they’re also working with the real estate company to see whether it might be possible to relocate it to a nearby park.
Finally
Nishi2 previously helped rescue a Jizo statue in Tsuto Sumiecho from a river on “Tantei! Knight Scoop,” so we’re really curious about this Jizo statue too. We hope this Jizo, which has watched over the local community, finds a good new home.
