It looks like “Co-op Nishinomiya Minami” in Higashimachi along the Rinko Line may be at risk of closing.
(Information provided by a resident near Koshien)
Co-op Kobe has announced its annual list of “candidate stores for end of operations,” and for fiscal 2026, “Co-op Nishinomiya Minami” appears to be on the list.
Co-op Nishinomiya Minami was also listed in 2024 and 2025 as a store meeting the criteria for ending operations, and this year it has apparently moved one step further to become a “candidate store for end of operations.”
Where is “Co-op Nishinomiya Minami”?
“Co-op Nishinomiya Minami” is located along the Rinko Line, south of Imazu Station.
Here it is on the map↓
The address is 1-12-3 Higashimachi, Nishinomiya City.
It relocated in 2021 into a new building, and Nishitsu also covered it then.
What happens next?
You may get extra points when shopping 500 yen or more
Members who have used the store in the past six months (meaning people who have a Coopy Card) will apparently receive a postcard. If you shop for 500 yen or more with that postcard and your Coopy Card, it looks like you can receive extra points.
The final decision will be around this autumn
The official decision will reportedly be made this autumn, based on business performance and other factors. Incidentally, the three stores that were targeted for closure last year are still operating.
In closing
The Uchidehama store in Ashiya was added as a candidate store for end of operations in March 2025, and it was announced in November 2025 that it would close. If we assume the final decision and announcement come about eight months later, November may likewise be the month of the final verdict. This is a highly competitive area for supermarkets, so the store is likely facing tough conditions.
