The Old National Highway...This is the Koshien Keyaki Promenade (#^.^#), a shopping street without an arcade.
I bought some bread from “BAKERY UEDA”, located in this lovely shopping street \(^o^)/

Bread I Bought at “BAKERY UEDA”

According to the shop, their croissants and French bread are especially recommended \(^o^)/
Unfortunately, the croissants were sold out, so on this day I bought a “Pain au Chocolat”, a “Boule” instead of a long French baguette, a small French bread called “Mentaiko”, plus “Black Tea and Fig” and “Smoked Salmon Quiche”, which were almost sold out!

Pain au Chocolat ¥180 (before tax)
French chocolate was tucked inside the shop’s signature croissant dough. The pastry was both crispy and moist, and the chocolate matched it perfectly. So good!!

Black Tea and Fig ¥210 (before tax)
Fig, custard cream, and lemon peel sit on top of black tea-flavored bread! All the flavors come together just as deliciously as you’d imagine (^O^)/

Smoked Salmon Quiche ¥340 (before tax)
This cross-section is just too beautiful! Inside that crisp, creamy texture, the flavor of smoked salmon spreads out (^ ^) If something like this showed up for breakfast, it feels like your whole day would get off to a great start!

Boule ¥260 (before tax)
A French bread whose name means “round” or “ball,” with plenty of soft interior (^O^)/ It’s a great bread for anyone who wants to enjoy lots of chewy inside texture!

Mentaiko ¥200 (before tax)
Sorry, there’s no individual photo (^_^;) I wanted to eat it so badly that I forgot to take one! This is how all of us at Nishitsu usually share and eat together!
Homemade mentaiko was sandwiched inside crispy toasted French bread, and it was just as delicious as expected (^ ^)
Inside “BAKERY UEDA”

This bakery is run by a married couple (^ ^) There are children’s drawings on the walls and cute little things here and there!
Delicious-looking breads were packed tightly throughout the shop Someone from the neighborhood was waiting outside and said, “I read Nishitsu!” It was such a happy moment 😍

The cheerful wife who helped us also told us that the apple pie is recommended (^O^)/ Definitely next time!
They had solid COVID-19 prevention measures in place at the register!

Final Thoughts
We learned about this shop from “清左衛門” across the street (^ ^) Everyone along Keyaki Promenade gets along so well!
When I stepped inside, I was wrapped in the wonderful smell of bread ☆*:.。. o(≧▽≦)o .。.:*☆
With rows of hard-style breads lined up, this bakery is irresistible for anyone who loves French bread!
If you buy delicious onigiri at 清左衛門 and tasty bread here, the diet will have to wait a little longer (^_^;)
