A spot where the street trees are beautifully lined with red sasanqua flowers. Iroha, a Nishitsu supporter, went to take photos of Sasanqua Road.
It’s the road that continues north from the northern area of Naruohama Seaside Park.
Here it is on the map↓
The address is 1-2 Takasucho, Nishinomiya, Hyogo Prefecture.
In autumn, it’s a beautiful spot for yellow ginkgo leaves.
This is what sasanqua flowers look like. They resemble camellias, but apparently one characteristic is that their petals fall off one by one.

It seems there were also white sasanqua flowers nearby. They’re not along this road, but at another spot close by. Try looking for them while taking a walk.
Finally
Sasanqua and tea plants both belong to the camellia family. Green tea, black tea, hojicha, oolong tea, and other teas are made from tea plants, but they can’t be made from sasanqua leaves. When you see sasanqua, try remembering: “Sasanqua is like a tea tree you can’t drink.”
