We heard that a fresh-squeezed orange juice vending machine had been installed at Aeon Nishinomiya, so we went to try it.
It’s on the 1st floor, next to the escalator, in the area with lots of vending machines.

We Tried Buying from the Fresh-Squeezed Orange Juice Machine Feed Me Orange

Put 500 yen into this machine, and it makes freshly squeezed juice right away.
Apparently, it started operating on April 25.
Look at all those oranges!It can apparently hold up to 500 of them.
They say it uses 3 to 4 oranges per cup.
①Insert 500 yen
②The juice is extracted.
The temperature was 6 degrees. The oranges are nice and chilled!
It’s fun to watch the oranges drop down and get cut automatically.
③The juice is ready
From inserting the 500 yen, it took 44 seconds for the freshly squeezed juice to be ready!
A film is firmly attached over the top of the paper cup, so it won’t spill.
④Take a straw
Take one of the straws provided on the vending machine.
It makes a pretty loud sound when you stick the straw in. Like a pop!
It tasted exactly like super fresh-squeezed orange juice!! Probably navel oranges.
The company that installed it is ME Group Japan株式会社, a Saitama-based company that operates ID photo booth businesses. It looks like they’re now expanding into the food machine business by installing these fresh-squeezed orange juice machines.
Lastly
We asked ME Group Japan株式会社, the company operating the vending machine, and they said they have installed around 350 machines across the Kanto and Kansai areas. Apparently, they’re so popular that each machine can sell more than 200 cups on weekends. As for the oranges, they use varieties such as Valencia and navel, selecting the best oranges for each season: from the United States (Northern Hemisphere) in spring and summer, and from Australia (Southern Hemisphere) in fall and winter.
