I think it was such a beloved local McDonald’s that people even had a nickname for it: “Shuku-Mac.” Those times when I’d hang out forever with friends, chatting about nothing in particular…（ ; ; ）When I was little, I remember getting a balloon from the Akachan Honpo service at ACTA, and on the way home from shopping, my mom and I would let it go by the stairs at the Shukugawa McDonald’s, saying “Bye-bye.” I’m 25, and I’m surprised this McDonald’s was there from before I was born. Now Ebista and Gardens have opened too, and Nishinomiya has become so lively… It’s sad, but I’m happy we can all share our memories like this.

I used it every day after cram school, and all the staff were so friendly. Every time I donated, they said thank you, and that made me really happy.

As a Shukugawa resident, I’m shocked! I used it when I wanted to be alone, and I went there to buy Happy Meals for my child. There aren’t many cafes near Shukugawa Station, so it was really useful for meeting up with people too.

There weren’t any fast food places in Kurakuen or Shukugawa, just a Baskin-Robbins 31 Ice Cream, so I remember being really excited back then. It was great when you wanted something sweet, but still. I was honestly so happy. I also liked going to karaoke nearby with friends and then talking on the second floor of McDonald’s afterward. I’m really sad. Painfully sad. Thank you so much for everything. I’d be grateful if you could pass along my thanks to McDonald’s Shukugawa Store.

When my child was little, we often ate lunch there with friends on the way home from lessons. Since I usually spent weekdays alone with my child, having lunch with friends at McDonald’s was truly precious and fun.

Apparently, it had been operating for 27 years. Twenty-seven years means since 1996 (Heisei 8). It opened in Shukugawa during an incredible era when loose socks were popular, along with Tamagotchi, phrases like “choberiba” and “choberigu,” and purikura photo booths. It brings back so many memories. It really is sad to see it go.
