It looks like Sakura Shokudo, a rice bowl and Japanese set meal restaurant inside the LaLaport Koshien food court, has suspended operations.
(Information provided by Takuro-san and Fukuchan @ Nishitsu Supporter)
Here’s how it looked on January 20↓

There was a notice saying, “Due to circumstances, we have suspended operations.”
Around lunchtime on Friday the 19th, Takuro-san, who sent us the information, apparently saw barriers just starting to be put up around the shop.
The floor map is here↓
It’s in the 2nd-floor Food Stadium, between Tenkaippin and Marugame Seimen.
Quoted from Ito, operator of “Hana Akari,” to file for personal bankruptcy | Chugoku Shimbun Digital
After looking into it, it appears that Ito Co., Ltd., the company that operates Sakura Shokudo, has suspended business and begun preparations for bankruptcy.
Quoted from Brands | Ito Co., Ltd.
It seems Ito Co., Ltd. operated several restaurants besides Sakura Shokudo.
- 花あかり
- 咲き福
- さくら食堂
- えびす
- 安芸乃
- おひつ屋
Finally
The barriers seem to have gone up quite suddenly, and as of now (4:30 p.m. on the 20th), there is no mention of it in LaLaport’s closure information, and the shop’s detail page has been deleted (the page existed at least until 1/16, according to Google Cache). Since it was a casual spot in the food court for Japanese meals and rice bowls, some people may be disappointed.
※Takuro-san and Fukuchan @ Nishitsu Supporter, thank you very much for the information!!
