Today, 8/25, around 7 p.m., lightning was flashing to the south.

It wasn’t so much “thunder rumbling” as “lightning flashing.”
When I looked it up, apparently there are two possibilities.
- “Cloud-to-cloud lightning,” which happens inside a thundercloud and doesn’t make any audible sound
- A lightning strike more than 40 to 50 km away (too far away for the sound to be heard)
Since it was toward the south, on the sea side, maybe it was somewhere far away. By the way, 40 km is about the distance to Kansai International Airport.

- 遠すぎて聞こえないやつ58.5%(62票)
Apparently there was lightning over toward Izumisano, so it was probably the faraway kind.
*U240@にしつーsp, thank you for the tip!!
