This tour lets you visit infrastructure facilities you normally don’t get to see, including a sewage treatment facility, the massive Shinkawa floodgate, and an exploration tour in a nature park. You’ll hear from local civil engineering staff and even experience passing through Ama Lock by boat. Lunch box included♪
- Mukogawa Downstream Sewage Treatment Center
Tour a facility that treats sewage for 620,000 people in the Hanshin area. You can also try water quality experiments and observe microorganisms with a microscope. You might even meet the ultimate survivor, the “tardigrade”?! - Lunchtime
Enjoy a “fish and chips” lunch box made with fish from off the coast of Mukogawa, produced by the canal cruise captain♪🍱 - Amagasaki Canal Cruise
Experience passing by boat through “Ama Lock (Amagasaki Lock),” made famous by the movie “Amalock”🛥️ - Amagasaki Forest Central Green Space Forest Exploration Tour
Nature observation and a craft experience using materials from the forest. Take a close look at plants and insects in Amagasaki Forest, where a 100-year forest-building project is underway🌱 - Shinkawa Floodgate

For this special event, climb the stairs to the very top of the floodgate, about 40 meters high. Finally
Getting to climb to the very top of the Shinkawa Floodgate, which you usually only get to look up at from below, is such a rare opportunity! Apparently, the views of Nishinomiyahama and Mt. Rokko from the top of the floodgate are spectacular😍 “Infrastructure” might sound a bit difficult, but this tour includes a cruise experience too, so it seems like you can learn while having fun♪
*Hank @ Nishitsu SP, thank you very much for the information!!
