As covered earlier in a Nishi2 opening article,
we bought some chocolates from Leonidas, a Belgian Royal Warrant chocolatier brand that opened near JR Koshienguchi.
Chocolates from “Leonidas”
At “Leonidas,” chocolates are sold by weight, and you can buy them starting from just one piece. But since I felt like I might end up buying too many, I picked up an assorted box of 8 pieces that included the seasonal “Manon Café” ← topped with roasted hazelnut on fresh cream with coffee flavor!
The main product at “Leonidas” is “praline” ← to put it simply, it’s apparently almond-flavored milk chocolate (^^♪
The white one is the seasonal chocolate ↓ The others are selected from the praline lineup. For details, see here.

The price for chocolates sold by weight is ¥1,350 including tax per 100 grams. 100 grams is about 7 pieces, so each piece comes to around ¥200. ← I hear that’s considered fairly affordable among high-end chocolates (^^)
Members of Nishi2 tried them and said, “One piece is so satisfying, it feels like eating a slice of cake,” “It melts so smoothly in your mouth, and it really is different from the chocolate bars we usually eat!,” and “It goes well with black coffee!”
The chocolates, made with 100% cocoa butter, are apparently flown in directly from Belgium every week on scheduled air shipments!!
The shop staff recommended the jellies too, so I bought some ↓ I photographed them with the chocolates so you can get a sense of the size.

The flavors are pear and peach! They’re plump, substantial jellies with a nice three-dimensional shape, and even one piece is quite satisfying!
Each one is ¥280 including tax, and other flavors included green apple, strawberry, pineapple, mandarin orange, fig, and cherry.
Inside “Leonidas”
The display case was full of chocolates! It looked like this ↓

The “Orangette,” candied orange peel coated in dark chocolate, apparently pairs well with alcohol and is a popular item (*^^)v
