Kida Taro, well known as the senior advisor of “Detective! Knight Scoop,” passed away on May 14.

He was a much older alumnus of my elementary school, and his home was behind the house of a close friend of mine. Every time I went to the nearby dagashi candy shop, I would glance over, wondering if he might come out.

Kida Taro attended Kwansei Gakuin Junior High School, Senior High School, and University, grew up in Nishinomiya, and had deep ties to the city.
Personally, I really loved his commercial songs for 551 Horai and Kani Doraku. I still find myself humming them even now.
May he rest in peace.
